"It's not about us." The phrase keeps resounding in my mind. Today is definitely meaningful in a way of being thankful for what I have been given. But more importantly it is meaningful because I am thankful for what I can give. We had an awesome brisk walk today along the beach with Miss Jackson. Just soaking up the day and what was in store for us. We decided to head in to the city and buy some burgers and chicken sandwiches and give them out to those in need. A small gesture, but what we got out of it was so much more.
We bought 20 sandwiches. We were able to speak to about 3 and get to know them. One guy named Tim started to recite a few versus to us. He knew the word! How amazing! He was thankful and actually ministered to us! Before we left him he said --- "you guys are doing something good, and don't forget Isaiah 58." The chapter is fairly long, but if you get a chance to read it, it hits deep to our purpose in life and why we do the things we do. It's very powerful.
How awesome it was to step out of our comfort zone, be nervous, yet courageous at the same time. How exhilarating it was to step out in to faith and truly obey. Even a small gesture, it felt so great. We were able to minister and be ministered to. I am so thankful for an awesome God.
