RUN TO YOU

Did Whitney Houston just pop in to your head?
I'm actually listening to the song now.
I was praying today about just falling and being safe in Jesus' arms.

Well first - here are the lyrics to Whitney Houston - Run to You
I know that when you look at me
There's so much that you just don't see
But if you would only take the time
I know in my heart you'd find
A girl who's scared sometimes
Who isn't always strong
Can't you see the hurt in me?
I feel so all alone

I wanna run to you (oooh)
I wanna run to you (oooh)
Won't you hold me in your arms
And keep me safe from harm
I wanna run to you (oooh)
But if I come to you (oooh)
Tell me, will you stay or will you run away

Now here is a part of Psalm 31 (THE MSG)
1-2 I run to you, God; I run for dear life.
    Don’t let me down!
    Take me seriously this time!
Get down on my level and listen,
    and please—no procrastination!
Your granite cave a hiding place,
your high cliff aerie a place of safety.
3-5 You’re my cave to hide in,
    my cliff to climb.
Be my safe leader,
    be my true mountain guide.
Free me from hidden traps;
I want to hide in you.
I’ve put my life in your hands.
    You won’t drop me,
    you’ll never let me down.

Similar yes?  How comforting to know my dad is waiting for me with open arms (oh no --- Mariah Carey's version of Open Arms just popped in to my head).  The crazy part is that Jesus is always here --- LIKE LITERALLY ALWAYS HERE!  I just make weird and dumb decisions to stray.  What is that???? It's annoying because life becomes so simple when Jesus is the rock - and is soon as you step off the rock on to stand for no reason at all - life gets way more complicated.  Like seriously?  Just stay on the rock right?

I guess it's something we all struggle with.  I definitely know that I need a church close-by where I can receive the bread of my father as well as be able to share it with someone else.

Let's live life on the rock and run to the Lord with open arms.  Let that be my desire day in and day out.
